THRIVE, our survivorship wellness program, is designed to take you from active treatment to active living. THRIVE classes help cancer survivors learn and practice the skills needed to strengthen their physical, mental and spiritual health after treatment.

Healthy Living & Goal Setting: Wherever you are on your journey, committing to a healthy lifestyle nourishes your mind, body, and spirit – allowing you to THRIVE. Learn key principles of healthy living and how to create goals that will help you stay focused, increase your motivation, and make meaningful changes.
Mindfulness and Meaning: Mindfulness is a non-judgmental way to pay attention to your mind, body, and feelings in the moment. Meaning is a sense of purpose and gives us reasons to relate and grow. Learn how mindfulness and meaning can help you connect to your health goals.
Nutrition: Promote your health every time you eat. Learn about how a plant-based diet which focuses on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans and nuts with limited low-fat dairy, fish and animal meats can help you achieve this goal.
Physical Activity: You don’t have to be an athlete or run a marathon to learn ways to add daily physical activities that will improve your strength, balance, and energy levels.
Sexual Health, Hormones and Body Image: Intimacy concerns are common and can be the result of physical changes and/or the emotional impact of a cancer diagnosis and treatment. Some treatments can cause hormonal changes with annoying symptoms such as hot flashes, altered feelings and mood, difficulty sleeping, and weight gain. Learn how to talk about your concerns with your doctor and partner and get tips to manage symptoms and improve your sexual health.
Long Term Symptom Management & Surveillance: The side effects of cancer treatment can include pain, fatigue, numbness and tingling, bowel changes, osteoporosis, and heart problems. Learn what to look for and what to report to your doctor.

Ann has been a Certified Nurse Practitioner for over 20 years, practicing in multiple specialties including Hematology/Oncology, Pulmonary and Internal Medicine. She has been with Roper St Francis for over four years prior to joining the Survivorship program working in primary care on Johns Island. Prior to joining Roper St Francis Healthcare, she cared for stem cell transplant patients at Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC. It was there that she began to appreciate and value the importance of developing a strong support network for each patient's cancer treatment, recovery and survivorship journey. She is passionate about promoting self-care, wellness and resiliency across the lifespan.
Ann earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the Medical University of South Carolina with an emphasis on quality in health care delivery. She earned both Masters of Nursing and Bachelors of Nursing from Kennesaw State University in her home town of Marietta Georgia. Ann serves as the co-chair of the Advanced Practice Provider Steering Committee at RSFH. She is an active volunteer in her community on Johns Island.
Ann enjoys gardening, exercise, college football Saturday's and spending time with her pets, family and friends.
